PETNET Inc. has a going concern that staunchly believes in giving back to worthy causes that help the underprivileged. Mr. Lorenzo T. Ocampo, President and Chief Executive Officer, leads the company towards sharing its blessings with programs and entities with this vision.
Gift of Life

PETNET supports, among others, the “Gift of Life” Project, an initiative of Rotary International that aims to “arrange ‘free heart surgery for economically weak children up to the age of 20 years, suffering from congenital heart diseases” all over the world.

In doing this, it is PETNET’s ardent hope that it contributes, in its own small way, to giving new lives to children the world over who are without access to quality medical care.

Western Union-Petnet Inc: Hands for Scholarship

Western Union Foundation and PETNET Inc. jointly lent their hands to sustain and enjoy the early education of 14 children of Overseas Filipino workers in Western Bicutan, Taguig City to study in Mano Amiga Academy, an exclusive school for poor children in Taguig City led [founded and run?]by Altius Foundation.

The Mano Amiga Scholarship Program was made possible by a US$ 50,000 grant from Western Union’s five-year Program: “One World, One Family” which started in 2007 with an allotment of US$ 50 million designed to uplift the lives of people below the economic ladder. The grant covers complete childhood education tuition, materials and classroom items. The scholars were chosen in collaboration with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

PETNET’s support for the Program fortifies its commitment to worthwhile endeavors for the economically disadvantaged, specially for those who personify our hopes for a brighter tomorrow.

The Aweca Foundation will help increase an occupational mobility and life skills of 300 out-of-school youth and improve their families’ income condition. An emphasis will be put on mutual support, communication, consultative planning and decision-making between and among the families of the beneficiaries, primarily their parents or siblings who are working or living in distant places to ensure the success of the beneficiaries’ endeavour.

Activities:
    Mobile Trade School
    • Increasing job skills and employment opportunities to out-of- school youth through training
    Basic Life Skills
    • Enhancing work attitudes and other significant life values of the beneficiaries in order for them to become responsive and productive workers
    Job Referral
    • Linking the beneficiaries to potential companies with job vacancies.
    Linkages with other agencies
    • Strengthening the partnership with local and international agencies e.g. Clinton Global Initiative.

Besides the beneficiaries’ benefits of acquiring job skills and having possible stable employment, families would increase their capacity in sustaining basic needs like children’s education.
